In 2025, ICCEMS will launch the ICCEMS Higher Degree Research/Early Career Research Program. This program will draw on the collective strength and scale of our centres to benefit our HDR and ECR members, taking advantage of the cross-institutional and transnational aspects of ICCEMS to offer training, networking and mentorship opportunities.
The proposed program has three parts consisting of the following opportunities:
1) Networking, Mobility and Exchange
- Provide dedicated ICCEMS HDR/ECR in-person peer networking events at major conferences and ICCEMS symposia
- Provide a fellowship scheme capitalising on existing programs within our institutions
- Foster HDR/ECR-led networking across institutions around research areas
2) Mentoring and Capacity Building
- A cross-institutional mentoring program matching HDR/ECRs with senior scholars
- A ‘tacit knowledge’ ICCEMS series in which senior scholars provide guidance and answer questions about the unspoken essential skills and practices for thriving in academia
3) Research Collaborations
- Inclusion in broader cross-institutional programs of research
- Inclusion on ICCEMS-sponsored panels and roundtables at conferences
- HDR-/ECR-led research streams across institutions
This exciting program will be formally launched in March 2025 at RSA Boston with a ICCEMS Early Career Members Drinks Reception.
